  1. This is a great first Vlog. Something to think about when developing future vlogs is your confidence when speaking in front of the camera, this can be improved by your use of eye focus and connection with the viewer. Further discuss why you decided to use Justin Peck as your chosen practitioner and the specific creative process he uses. Please link your video within your blog!

    1. Thankyou I will consider this feedback when I next film a vlog.
I decided to use Justin Peck as my chosen practitioner as I find his pieces extremely captivating and interesting to watch due to his use of the classical style yet it seeming so different to most classical ballets. For example, the spontaneous feel within the work In the Countenance of Kings really engages the audience allowing them to really focus on the movement. Justin also uses an array of dynamics in order to interest the audience which is a target of mine due to me always using a soft dynamic when creating my own movement. This drew me to him as his processes and way of movement could inspire me and push me to go outside my comfort zone.
Justin Peck sketches shapes onto a piece of paper and then creates this movement on his own body through improvisation. this appealed to me as improvisation is my go to way to create movement as I find it successful every time. He then teaches this to his dancers and allows them to suggest changes to him. I like this as it gives the dancers freedom to make the work their own which allows them to be confident in the movement.

  2. Reflecting back, was there anything you felt you wanted to find out about your chosen choreographer?

    1. Reflecting back on this I would like to find out other ways in which Justin Peck finds movement. I am interested in this as I found the sketching he does a very effective way to create movement therefore he may have other processes in which I work well with too.
